<br/><br/><b>Job Description:</b><br/>  URS Melbourne office has an opportunity for a suitably qualified human health risk assessment professional at principal consultant level to join its geo-environmental team. The main focus of the senior position is to direct and conduct human health risk assessments of environmentally and chemically contaminated land and groundwater. Risk assessments may also need to be conducted for contaminants in surface water and air.

The Principal Risk Assessor will join the Geo-Environmental Workgroup in our Melbourne Office and will be involved with hydrogeological, contaminated land and site remediation projects for a number of clients and service industries including petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, property development and government industries.

The role will include business development, project management for large and complex projects, project direction, team leadership, peer review and technical leadership for contaminated land practice workgroups.

Applicants should be highly motivated with relevant 10 to 15 years experience in the fields of human health risk assessments and environmental site assessment, including soil and groundwater contaminated studies. Experience in conducting ecological (or environmental) risk assessments would also be an advantage. Relevant post graduate qualifications (such as toxicology) and experience in a leadership position in the consulting industry would also be an advantage.

<br/><br/><b>Job Description:</b><br/>  Due to a number of new projects and ongoing work programs, we are looking to appoint a number of Environmental Scientists and Engineers within the Geo Environmental Management Group (GEM) group. Our Contaminated Land group is primarily focused on the assessment and management of contaminated land within Victoria, but also supports other URS offices throughout Australia, and has undertaken work in most Australian States and Territories, New Zealand, South East Asia, Middle East, South Pacific States and South Africa. URS is a customer driven consultancy with a focus on technically challenging projects, undertaken in a strong teamwork environment.

This position is based in Perth and requires working closely with our clients at least throughout Western Australia. A developing understanding of the market for hydrological and water engineering consultancy services in Western Australia is preferred, or a successful track record of experience in another locations.

A full-time, experienced hydrologist is required to help service and grow our WA surface water business and other technical streams as required.
Responsibilities/Objectives

? Project management and technical direction of hydrological site investigations.
? Provision of expertise, review and comment on complex surface water quality and flow aspects of various projects including surface water resource assessments for mining and infrastructure projects.
? Hydrological input to statutory environmental reports.
? Deliver project services in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment Systems.
? Assistance with the preparation of tenders and proposals as Proposal Manager.
? Initiate and provide technical training/mentoring for graduate and junior staff.
? Develop a leadership role in workgroup initiatives including technical activities.
? Perform other related duties from time to time, provided that they are consistent with your skills, competencies and expertise.

Your experience should include surface water resources investigations and assessments, surface water drainage or infrastructure design, feasibility studies, catchment or flow modelling, and surface water resources compliance reporting. You should also have demonstrable project management experience.
