Minimum Requirements * Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering * 10 + years experience in Roadway or Track Alignment * Experience in applying design standards to roadway or track horizontal and vertical alignment studies to identify and evaluate alternatives * Ability to serve as task leader for engineering transit planning and design projects * Ability to manage projects to meet client needs, budget, schedule, scope and quality requirements * Ability to pursue transit marketing opportunities * Ability to work collaboratively with national and regional staff to pursue work and perform projects in other states

Job Description :
Position Description * Serve as Transit Engineering Team Leader responsible for project performance, building staff, and marketing * Work in a team environment to identify and evaluate alternative LRT alignments * Lead the preparation of conceptual and preliminary engineering drawings of LRT alignment alternatives * Prepare cost estimating * Lead the collection of utility data and assessment of conflicts * Integrate station location criteria into alignment studies and evaluation considerations This position offers an opportunity for the right person to grow and develop their career through long term involvement with the LRT in the Phoenix Area. URS is lead on one and subconsultant on other planning, preliminary engineering and environmental documents for extension of the 20-mile LRT starter line that is set to open in 2008. With local funding provided through a sales tax, the LRT system is destined to expand rapidly. The proposed extensions will move from the current AA state to design and construction over the next few years.
