The candidate will be a Senior Design Engineer in the URS Santa Ana Federal Facilities Projects Division. The candidate will be responsible for assisting with remediation design projects, primarily at federal facilities. The majority of the projects will be at Navy installations in the Southwest (CA, AZ, NM, NV). The candidate will be working with other engineers, geologists, chemists and environmental scientists during design phases of the project. The candidate will be responsible for managing meeting budget, schedule and quality requirements for the assigned design task.
The candidate will assist the URS project team with design support to implement environmental technologies such as soil vapor extraction and bioventing systems, permeable reactive barriers, groundwater pump and treat systems, HRC,ORC, EHC, etc injection. In addition, the candidate should be experienced with landfill cap design. Experience with computer modeling using VLEACH, CSOIL, and analytical modeling for soil vapor extraction subsurface flow and natural attenuation using BIOCHLOR model is preferred. The candidate will be involved completing design calculations, preparing design drawings and specification, completing statement of work for procurement as well as performing evaluation of outside technical proposals. In addition, the candidate will be involved in the preparation of remedial action work plans as well as with the preparation of pilot test work plan for implementing in-situ treatment technologies.
The candidate will report to the Federal Facilities Projects Division Manager. The candidate will interact with the Geosciences Division and other divisions within URS to become familiar with URS capabilities, tap into resources, and provide project support, as needed.
