Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science. Minimum 8 years experience in Air Quality permitting/regulations. Requires knowledge of private sector air quality requirements. Must have business development skills. Must be able to communicate and work effectively in team situations. Must be able to represent themselves and URS well in front of clients, potential clients and other outside personnel. Requires ability to communicate facts both verbally and in written form to staff and clients with varying backgrounds. Must be a seller-doer, capable of leading a group of air quality engineers and scientists. Must have a strong desire to grow the existing Air Quality Practice in the Austin office. Must be able to identify business opportunities and single sales objectives for air quality services in Texas and work with the team to capitalize on those objectives. Will require travel within Texas, but the majority of the work will occur in Austin, Texas.
Job Description :
This position will provide air quality permitting/regulatory support and business development for the Air quality Practice. This will include working with other offices including Houston, Dallas, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio. Will work with industrial clients including Chemical/Pharmaceutical, Petroleum, and Manufacturing sectors. Will work with Senior Project Managers to understand the needs of existing clients and develop relationships with new clients. Will work with multi-media team to ensure full services are offered to prospective clients. Services may include wastewater, stormwater, waste, environmental reporting, and EIMS. Will provide strong support to current project and develop new business opportunities that allow junior/mid-level staff to grow and develop into technical/project management roles. Will be able to expand the Air Quality Practice in Austin as the Business Line Leader. Will work with professional teams made up of Engineers, Regulatory Experts, Environmental Scientists, Database administrators, CADD and administrative support. Project team sizes range from 6 - 50 staff members. This position reports to a Unit Leader and will work with multiple project managers, business developers, and junior/mid-level staff.
