Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management and a minimum of 20 years working in construction management as a Project Manager involving K-12, Community College and/or Higher Education projects. Must have 10 years of project management experience and worked in various project delivery methods, CM Multi-prime, CM@Risk, CM Agency, Design-Build. General Contractor license OR Registered Architect. Microsoft Office Suite and P3/P6 scheduling software and Prolog/CM12. Fluent in English, excellent communicator, capable of reading and understanding Contract language. This is a senior level position supervising projects from $55M to $150M in renovation or new K-12; Community College/ Higher educational type projects. Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Must have a valid driver's license.
Job Description :
The candidate will be knowledgeable of recently adopted construction procurement processes for various project delivery methods. S/He will manage site superintendent(s), interface proactively with the client, provide periodic progress reports, validate CORs, CO's and review RFIs and progress pay applications. Lead the team to develop the roles and responsibilities matrix for trades and participate in the procurement process of all trades and produce all related reports. Primary responsibility for keeping the progress of the project on time and on schedule during construction and completing all Enterprise One reports and invoicing completed in a timely basis. Organization skills a must, and client communication skills required and collaborative team building skills essential. S/He will work with Sr Project Manager to develop monthly reports and supervise field staff. This position will report to the Facilities Program Manager OR Office Manager. Must have a strong command of the English language to interface with Client and design team. Also to write periodic reports for client's review. Candidate could develop into Facilities Program Manager with proper experience and successful outcomes in managing multi-project/multi-year project concurrently. Candidate will have opportunity to manage multiple projects concurrently and participate in program management activities. Once successful in working in this capacity, given the millions of dollars of work that San Diego County educational clients have pending in the next 5 to 8 years there will be no need to leave San Diego County for future job assignments and be in a strategic position to obtain promotional opportunities as a Deputy Program Manager.
