Minimum Requirements :
Undergraduate degree in geology or engineering geology. 20 years of experience. Registered Geologist or Registered Engineering Geologist. Experience with Navy's investigation and remediation projects, including writing Navy's documents such as Remedial Action Work Plans, Sampling and Analysis Plan, Waste Management Plan, Groundwater Monitoring Reports etc and implementing field remedial actions , including and not limited to drilling, overseeing excavation, soil and groundwater sampling, conducting quality control and health and safety duties, etc . Should be experienced with different drilling techniques such as hollow-stem; reverse and traditional mud -rotary, air rotary, sonic, etc. and should have experience investigating and remediating sites contaminated with low level radioactive contaminants as well as chemical contaminants such as PCBs. heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, etc. Experience with MS Office/CAD Light. The candidate must have excellent verbal, writing and people management skills and should be capable of demonstrating prior experience with investigating and remediating CERCLA sites.

The candidate will be a temporary Principal Geoscientist in the URS Santa Ana Federal Facilities Projects Division. The candidate will be responsible for completing investigation work plans, remedial action work plans, groundwater monitoring reports, site closure reports and fulfill the duties of the site geologist/ Construction Quality Control (CQC) engineer for commercial and government projects. The majority of the projects will be at Navy installations in the Southwest (CA, AZ, NM, NV). The candidate will be a temporary employee responsible for specific technical tasks as assigned by the URS project manager. The candidate will be responsible for meeting task schedule, budget and quality of work. The candidate will report to the Federal Facilities Projects Division Manager. Responsible for completing investigation work plans, remedial action work plans, groundwater monitoring reports, site closure reports and fulfill the duties of the site geologist/ Construction Quality Control (CQC) engineer for commercial and government projects. ::
