Minimum Requirements :
Qualifications
. The Principal Consultant shall normally possess at a minimum a forestry or natural resources based tertiary-level qualification from a recognized institution.
. Qualifications desirably to at least a Masters level, with the post graduate qualifications desired including non-technical degrees in management, financial economics or relevant financial areas.
Skills
. A proven track record in project management (technical excellence, client service and profitability) and in business development.
. Be recognised as a technical expert.
Experience
. Experience will include a balance of forest industry sectors and varying levels, including senior and executive personnel. Expected to have a strong network of industry relationships.
. Minimum of 10-15 years technical experience in the forests and wood products sector.
. Preferably 5 years consulting experience in the forest and wood products or natural resources sectors, or proven consulting skills.
. Experience working in a multi-national organisations, and appreciate the working requirements of a large United States publicly listed company such as URS (desirable).
. Be fully competent in English, and desirably have or will seek to become competent in spoken Indonesian Bahasa
Job Description :
The Principal Consultant is a senior position within URS Forestry, to be based in the PT URS Indonesia office in Jakarta and will report to the Senior Principal URS Forestry, who in turn reports to the Vice President URS Forestry. The person will support the URS Forestry division by providing; wood markets analysis, due diligence and valuation, forests and carbon, and supply chain analysis in the forest and wood sectors of Indonesia and southeast Asia.
The position includes responsibilities for: client relationship management, business development, marketing of URS Forestry services, as well as project management and implementation.
Responsibilities / Objectives
. Grow the business and be accountable for:
o Sales & marketing of the URS Forestry southeast Asian operations.
o Key Indonesian and southeast Asian customer relationship management.
o Meeting the sold time and hourly charge rates for you and those who report to you by:
? Winning and delivering projects in the forest and wood products sector from multinational corporations and major industrials and financiers to the sector.
? Winning and delivering projects from multinational corporations in the resources sector dealing with forest related issues in southeast Asia.
? Assisting, as required by IDev Sustainable Development, win projects from bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors in the forest sector.
? Assisting, as required by IDev Sustainable Development and other sections of URS (as agreed by URS Forestry), win projects requiring forest sector advice, particularly those clients in the resources, and oil and gas sectors with operations in southeast Asia.
? Utilising the URS Forestry group personnel skills as well as key subcontractors.
. Deliver projects successfully and be accountable for:
o Project planning, direction and finance, working within the URS Forestry group processes and systems.
o Project management & supplier management on large complex projects.
o Compliance with the URS Business Management Systems and Finance and Administration requirements, including attaining project management certification.
o Complete these tasks by:
? Working as part of the URS Forestry group, participating in the strategic, tactical and works planning processes of the group. Recognise and capitalize on the skills within the group, and actively incorporate these skills in prospects and projects in southeast Asia.
? Reinforce and extend existing relationships and networks in southeast Asia with universities, research agencies, government agencies and other potential key stakeholders. Research and keep up to date with main client contractor/ consulting services guidelines and registration processes.
. Coach staff and be accountable for:
o Mentoring, performance management and staff development of your direct reports.
o Meeting Key Performance Indicators for you and your staff, including
? Achieve personal sold time of 67% of total work hours, acting as project director, project manager or lead consultant.
? Manage other staff as direct reports or project related staff, in achieving the specific key performance indicators of the each reporting staff member or project requirements.
