Registered ME in California. LEED AP or will be taking the exam within 6 months of employment. Thorough knowledge of design codes. Strong communication skills. Design computer knowledge required and knowledge of AutoCAD desirable.
Job Description :
Our Oakland Office and Bay Area Sub-region are looking for a qualified candidate to join our Office as a Sr. Facility Mechanical Engineer. This work involves all aspects of mechanical engineering from conception through final detailed engineering; directs and supervises all mechanical engineering activities. The successful candidate will: • Lead projects requiring support staff under his/her direction and be responsible for budget and schedule for the mechanical scope of work of projects. • Have experience in HVAC,domestic water,chilled water plants, process piping systems and fire protection systems. • Have experience working for both public and private clients. • Have design experience in industrial and commercial facilities. Experience in Healthcare and Higher Education Projects highly desirable. • Be familiar and/or have experience with LEED certified projects. • Be responsible for recruiting and managing junior and mid-level mechanical engineers. • Estimate manpower needs, schedule and assign work to meet completion deadlines and budgets. • Make independent decisions on mechanical engineering problems and methods and serve as the Technical Specialist for the Oakland office and Bay Area Sub-region offices in the application of advance theories, concepts, principles or process for mechanical engineering. • Participate in proposal and contract preparations, proposal interviews, presentations and negotiations of engineering agreements. • Work on traditional design-bid-build and design/build projects. Coordination within the Oakland office and Bay Area Sub-region offices. • Work closely with URS project managers, project engineers and other staff professional to develop engineering opinions, design recommendations, technical reports, and design documents such as plans, specification, and construction cost estimates/schedules. • Comply with URS' Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture.
