Job Description:
Due to a number of new projects and ongoing work programs, we are looking to appoint a number of Environmental Scientists and Engineers within the Geo Environmental Management Group (GEM) group. We are seeking candidates with varying amounts of experience in related fields. Please apply via this Requisition and state clearly the amount of experience you have. Our Contaminated Land group is primarily focused on the assessment and management of contaminated land within Victoria, but also supports other URS offices throughout Australia, and has undertaken work in most Australian States and Territories, New Zealand, South East Asia, Middle East, South Pacific States and South Africa. With a staff of around 80 people with experience ranging from new graduates to more than 30 years, it is one of the largest and most diverse contaminated land consulting practices in Australia in its own right. The work undertaken includes phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments; contaminated land remediation; statutory contaminated land and due diligence audits; and includes a small GIS section. The group has three contaminated land Environmental Auditors appointed by the Victorian EPA and employs geologists, hydrogeologists, environmental engineers, chemists, chemical engineers, a toxicologist, a risk assessment specialist and GIS specialists. Dependent upon the level of experience you bring to the role, you will be responsible for designated aspects of the following tasks:- ? Project Management of small, medium and large contaminated land projects ? Management and direction of field programs and providing technical assistance to field staff ? Writing technical reports for peer review by senior technical staff ? Liaise with third-party auditors and statutory authorities (as directed) ? Undertake business development and client management for existing and new clients. ? Deliver project services in accordance with Health & Safety systems, including audit programs ? Preparation of tenders and proposals ? Provide technical training/mentoring for graduate and junior staff; ? Conduct field work as required by your role (80% for junior roles to minimal time for project managers and senior personnel) ? Participate in workgroup initiatives including technical activities ? Perform other related duties from time to time, provided that they are consistent with your skills, competencies and expertise
