As a Health Physics Technician you will conduct radiation surveys of potentially contaminated areas and structures; you will perform surveys and collect samples to support field excavations and other remediation activities
SOFTWARE SKILLS:
Microsoft Word and Excel
OTHER SKILLS:
Knowledgeable and experienced in the conduct of environmental radiation surveys, survey of personnel and equipment, and collection of environmental samples for radiological analysis. Must be experienced working under environmental QA programs; documenting activities, chain of custody, etc. Be able to recognize and communicate to the RSO and site workers shortcomings in radiological safety and characterization activities.

You will be part of the radiation safety group supporting a dedicated site remediation team. You will report directly to the Site RSO. This position is one of three making up the radiation safety group that will conduct surveys used to guide remediation and ensure proper radiation safety at the the site.
You will be responsible for conducting environmental surveys, collecting samples, recording data, surveying personnel and equipment. This role also will work closely with site field remediation crews and will interface with Oversight contractor radiation safety personnel and analytical laboratory.
** This is a project hire for radiation survey support for the remediation of a site in Vernon, CA. The expected duration is 8 weeks and Per Diem will be paid. Candidates will be considered for continuing work on other projects in locations throughout the US.**
