Job Description :
Position Summary
Your position objective as a Graduate Environmental Scientist is to work together as a team member within the Geoscience group at URS. The position objective requires sound project management, technical and communication skills.
Responsibilities / Objectives
. Deliver Geoscience related services to our clients that are on time and on budget. This work will include and will draw on skills in environmental science, geology, data processing and laboratory work.
. Undertake and assist in contaminated land site investigations and remediation projects.
. Field investigations and fieldwork supervision, including mapping, drilling, sampling, testing, borehole completion and testing.
. Prepare reports and other client deliverables to a high professional standard.
. Maintain effective communications with URS personnel, clients and suppliers.
. Work closely with clients, with the objective of satisfying the agreed scope of work and project solutions, and respond flexibly to changing client and project needs and maintain regular liaison.
. Communicate effectively with office and other team project personnel.
. Develop technical and professional expertise.
. Manage allocated tasks and projects as required
. Data compilation, processing and interpretation.
. Assist with report preparation and other client deliverables to a high professional standard.
. Respond flexibly to changing client and project needs and maintain regular liaison with your supervisor.
. Maximum of 4 non billable hours per week after an introductory period of 8 weeks.

Training modules will be assigned to you when your performance objectives are set. Project management opportunities range from being fully responsible for the performance of small projects to leading tasks on major projects.
. Business Development Training is provided to selected URS staff. Developing business is key feature of a sustainable business and success in this area can underpin promotion from Senior Environmental Scientist to Associate Environmental Scientist.
. You will participate in Quarterly Review Meetings for the Geoscience Group. These meetings review group performance and more importantly develop strategy for growth in the overall business as well provide a forum to discuss additional resources, training and other development of the Group.
