Minimum Requirements :
MA in Architectural History, Historic Preservation or Archaeology. 5 years professional experience in as a Federally qualified architectural historian coupled with a thorough knowledge and demonstrated successful implementation through prior professional employment of all aspects of National Historic Preservation Act, Section 106 compliance.
Registered with the state historic preservation office(s) or ability to become registered with several state historic preservation office(s). Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Projects. Ability to manage all phases of projects including development of budgets and scopes, track schedules and deliverables, and ensure work quality and adherence to project schedules. Must have a client focused orientation and a substantial understanding that client needs and priorities drive the process. Must be comfortable and adept within a multi-priority, fast paced work environment.
Job Description :
This positions will manage archeological/cultural assessments in California and Nevada for communications clients. The Architectural Historian will be responsible for NEPA/Section 106 compliance and meeting FCC requirements. This candidate will be coordinating closely with a team of six people providing services for a single communications client based out of Spokane, Washington. Other team members include URS due-diligence and cultural resource personnel in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, and New Mexico.
Must be able to communicate through written methods to tribal and state cultural resource agencies. Must be able organize deliverables and track approval processes. Detailed note taking and file organization is required. The successful candidate will have opportunity to support other URS organizations on projects including EISs and EAs.
